Metro Areas with the Largest Percent Gain in Existing Single-Family Home Prices in Q4 2024
According to the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), metro areas have seen increases in existing single-family home prices in Q4 of 2024. Jackson, MS experienced the largest percent gain, with a significant increase of 28.7%, bringing the median price to $251,600. Following closely behind, Peoria, IL saw a 19.6% rise, reaching a median price of $172,400. Other notable metro areas included Chattanooga, TN-GA, with an 18.2% increase to $346,700, and Elmira, NY, where home prices climbed by 17.6%, settling at $167,800. Fond du Lac, WI saw gains of 17.6% with median prices of $263,800. Cleveland-Elyria, OH's gains reached 16.4%, with median prices of $221,900. Additional cities that experienced substantial price increases included Bismarck, ND (15.8% to $312,200), Akron, OH (15.5% to $209,600), Blacksburg Christiansburg, VA (15.0% to $311,900), and Canton-Massilon, OH (14.9% to $207,000).
